The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Shot Military Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Community members gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid policing efforts in the capital.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the individual that teachers wished for. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the government to halt refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
