Ex- Physician Faces Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician stands accused of carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
