AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
